Q: What are Mosquitofish?

A: Mosquitofish are small fish who get their name from their ability to eat mosquito larvae. Male mosquitofish grow to approximately 1.5 inches in length and female mosquitofish grow to approximately 3 inches in length.


Q: How many mosquitofish should I stock?

A: Mosquitofish can be stocked between 1,000 - 2,500 fish per acre in large bodies of water. Depending upon your filtration system, about 1 fish per gallon of water is adequate in small aquariums.
